Jordan Butler’s Story

Dear Mr. Shank,

First and foremost I would like to thank you for sharing your story. It is incredibly inspiring and it’s because of your honesty and courage that I can call myself a Christian today. You see, my entire life I’ve known two things. The first being that Jesus loves me: always has and always will. The second being that one day I will be judged.

I was raised a catholic but was always told to seek out the truth for myself. So that’s exactly what I did. Then one day I met a friend, Paden [Reed], who gave me your book and I loved it! Most every question, doubt or random off hand thought about denominational religion today I had was answered.

When I finished the book my friend asked me, “if you died tonight do you have assurance of where your soul would spend eternity?” “Yes,” I replied. “And that’s not where it should be.” That night I was baptized and I thank God every day for blessing me with friends who care enough about my soul to lead me to his word.

Once again, thank you for sharing your experiences. We could all use a Randall in our lives today because sometimes the questions left unspoken are the ones that really matter.
